What Is Advanced Air Mobility?
Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) is the next evolution of air travel, created to solve mobility challenges that roads, rail, and conventional aviation cannot. It covers Urban Air Mobility (UAM) for short flights within or between nearby cities, and Regional Air Mobility (RAM) for connections across towns and regions.
AAM will employ a new generation of battery electric, hybrid-electric and hydrogen powered aircraft, with vertical or ultra-short take-off and landing capability, quiet operation, and minimal infrastructure requirements. This makes it possible to bypass traffic congestion, cut journey times from hours to minutes, and reach destinations beyond the scope of conventional airline networks and airports.
By linking city centres, regional hubs, and remote areas, AAM delivers faster, cleaner, and more accessible travel, making point-to-point air mobility part of everyday life.
Why India Needs AAM?

Urban Congestion
India’s road network and metros are heavily congested and stretched beyond capacity. AAM unlocks short-haul air routes within and between cities.

Extending the Skies UDAN Opened
The UDAN scheme has shown the power of regional connectivity, linking over 400 underserved routes and boosting access to new markets, tourism, and essential services.
Yet many tier 2 and 3 locations remain beyond runway reach, or conventional airline services are not commercially viable or sustainable.
